Gina, while aware of Lloyd Cole, I never took a specific interest in him and barely heard him. Recently a good local Philadelphia group, John Train, added a cover of "Perfect Skin" to their set. It was probably the first time I had listened closely to anything Cole related. I was immediately struck by the similarities in the sound of that song to Tom Verlaine's Dreamtime album. When I checked out Rattlesnakes, there was also a definite vocal similarity. This is not a criticism, particularly, just an observation. Didja ever notice this?
Wow that's amazing; so good! It takes some nerve to cover Television but I think this is great. Though it reminds me that I have never liked the use of the word "ain't" in the lyric...it kind of sticks in my craw. And Lloyd's. (Blasphemy!)
Oh I love that he does Chelsea Hotel in his shows. One of the best Cohen covers ever.
Yes, it's great - definitely emphasizes his likeness to LC, though. Maybe he is his successor. I once saw Lloyd do "Famous Blue Raincoat."
Sure, I see that - his voice has a Tom Verlaine timbre.

While with the Commotions, he covered "Glory." https://youtu.be/VxjYtzTQJ-Q?si=2TNj9P5xeHadCtqw
