Thanks for the beautiful story. It's hard to explain why certain bands resonate but I try from time to time. I once noted that both Creedence Clearwater Revival and Los Lobos wore plaid work shirts on stage. Maybe that's why.
Some random thoughts: there is a coat check person? I didn't know there were such things anymore! Also, when I see my favorite bands I go to another place. Sort of like being on too planes. There is no way to talk about "the music." If you try you will lose the magic. Or something....
Gina, I just have to say the Church are NOT the Church with out Marty. The Fillmore (that size room is the largest size venue I can handle. The purpose of Clubs is for bands on their way up / on their way down and when the want to one offs. I have zero problems with that.
I miss Marty too! This show was heavy on new material. Also, two bands I love on one bill is too much. I would have been happy to pay twice to see two different shows, I really couldn't switch gears like that.
